Dr. Kelly Pagidas - recruited as new Academic Chair of Medical Education for the TCU & UNTHSC SChool of Medicine - Academic Medical Physician Recruitment & Executive Search

The TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine has named Dr. Kelly Pagidas as its academic chair of medical education, where she will oversee faculty recruitment and retention. Pagidas previously served as professor adjunct and division director of the reproductive endocrinology and infertility department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine.

“I am happy to welcome Dr. Pagidas as a chair and leader for our school. In her career, she has put an emphasis on being a life-long learner and has given back that knowledge to medical students. As a physician, she has delivered outstanding clinical care to her patients with empathy and compassion. Her knowledge and expertise are great additions to our faculty and also a great resource for our medical students to help them become Empathetic Scholars and great physicians of the future,” TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine Founding Dean Stuart D. Flynn, M.D., said via release.

Pagidas has had professor and leadership roles in the obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility at McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada, Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island and Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, University of Louisville School of Medicine, the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine.

“It’s amazing that we’re adopting the world of acting artistry and teaching individuals to put themselves in the shoes of others,” Dr. Pagidas said via release. “Medical students don’t need to memorize as much as I did when I was in medical school because of technology. But what they need to do is be more open-minded and develop different communication styles because not every patient you see is going to fit one mold.”
