Position Overview

The Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a MS specialist to join our established MS Comprehensive Care Center. This position will provide patient care in our outpatient MS clinic and provide oversight and mentorship for Neurology residents and medical students. Engagement in clinical research is strongly encouraged.

  • Fellowship trained in Multiple Sclerosis
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology

Multiple Sclerosis Center

The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Center is to improve the quality of life of people living with Multiple Sclerosis by assisting with the treatment and management of care of the MS patient. The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) section of Neurology is an interdisciplinary program that strives to meet the changing needs of people living with MS.

The MS Center at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is affiliated with the Georgia Chapter and the South Carolina Regional Office of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Neuroscience Center of Excellence

The Neuroscience Center of Excellence at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University offers expert patient care in a variety of neurological and neurosurgical subspecialties. Our program includes the first ALS Association certified center in Georgia, a National Parkinson’s Center of Excellence, a National Association of Epilepsy level 4 center, a 20 bed Neurocritical Care Unit, a comprehensive stroke program accredited by the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations, as well as child and adult neurology residency programs and multiple subspecialty fellowships.

The Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University aims for the highest quality of clinical care, the best training experience for our medical students, residents, and fellows, and the performance of cutting-edge research.

Our teaching mission includes medical students, residents, and fellows undergoing advanced training. Research activities in the department include both basic science and clinical and translational investigations. Additionally, our multidisciplinary Neuroscience Center of Excellence facilitates active collaborations with subspecialists from other departments including general neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuro-otology, neuro-ophthalmology, functional neurosurgery (deep brain stimulation and epilepsy surgery), neuro-gastroenterology and basic science. Our facility houses a wide variety of other specialties including a level I trauma center, and seven ICUs (neurology, shock trauma, surgery, pediatric, neonatal, cardiology, and medical).

We have a strong foundation in general neurology and neurological subspecialities including:

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is the flagship medical school of the University System of Georgia, the state’s only public medical school, and one of the top 5 largest medical schools in the United States.
